This website is a partnership between SERVE Regional Educational Library and National Head Start and provide a wide variety of transition information and resources for families, professionals, and community partnerships to use as they address children’s transitions into kindergarten.

Prepare Tomorrow's Parents

Prepare Tomorrow’s Parents, formerly The Parenting Project, is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to addressing our nation's crises of child abuse, neglect and abandonment, teen pregnancy and overall violence by working to bring parenting, empathy and nurturing skills education to all school age children and teens.   Parenting, empathy and nurturing skills must be taught in schools and other settings to young people from pre-K and elementary grades through high school.

National Association for the Education of Young Children

The National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) is dedicated to improving the well-being of all young children, with particular focus on the quality of educational and developmental services for all children from birth through age 8. Families can find information on how to pick a pre school and what high quality care means.  There is even a recommended list of books for children and families.

The mission of the Childrens Trust Fund is to prevent child abuse and neglect, and to establish resources in communities statewide that support and strengthen families. We are responsible for supporting local efforts that help families and communities to be responsive to children and to ensure their positive growth and development. Connecticut Parent Power

Connecticut Parent Power is a statewide parent action network with a history of strengthening the voices of parents on the many decisions that affect our children and families. They provide training and education on important issues while connecting with parents and concerned citizens statewide that are ready to act on behalf of children.
