Halloween in the Village
Come say “Hi” to the ECCS at the Annual Halloween in the Village event! We will be located in the firehouse.
This is a fun and free event where children up to age 12, in costume, can go trick-or-treating at local businesses.
Southington Early Childhood Community Table
The Early Childhood Collaborative of Southington is hosting a Local Governance Partner Community Table meeting.
The Early Childhood Collaborative of Southington has been selected by the Connecticut Office of Early Childhood to be the Local Governance Partner for our community.
We are charged with convening a Community Table, “a collaborative space that serves as a neutral, inclusive forum where diverse organizations, parents, and stakeholders come together to engage in open dialogue, share insights, and work towards collective community goals” around the needs of the families and caregivers of young children in our town.

Tiny Trick-or-Treat at the Barnes!
Join us on Saturday, October 31 from 3–5 PM for a sweet, simple Halloween afternoon designed especially for our littlest trick-or-treaters!
Children ages 10 and under and their families are invited to stop by the Barnes Museum in costume and trick-or-treat around the museum grounds and historic home.

👻 Perfect for toddlers, preschoolers, babies, and younger children
🍬 Plenty of treats!
This is a FREE community event and no registration is required. Come anytime between 3 and 5 PM!
Costumes encouraged. Little ghosts, pumpkins, princesses, dinosaurs, superheroes, and everything in between are welcome at the Barnes!

ECCS Parent Book Club – Raising a Kid Who Can
The book we will be discussing is Raising a Kid Who Can: Simple Strategies to Build a Lifetime of Adaptability and Emotional Strength by Catherine McCarthy, Heather Tedesco, and Jennifer Weaver.
A limited number of copies of this book can be borrowed for this book club event from the Southington Public Library or from the ECCS’s collection. You can also purchase your own copy.
Childcare is not available at this event, but babies are welcome to attend. Snacks will be provided.
Why are the ECCS Parent Ambassadors hosting this book club series? When the ECCS, as a Local Governance Partner under the CT Office of Early Childhood, completed their Local Needs Assessment we found that addressing children’s behavior was one of the big concerns that parents and caregivers had.
Annual Book Sorting
Every year, the ECCS gives books to every child 12 and under who participated in the Southington Community Services holiday program. Each package contains multiple books and flyers about the ECCS and Southington Public Library services.
