State of Early Childhood in Southington Presentation
The Early Childhood Collaborative of Southington (ECCS) will host a presentation on “Early Childhood in Southington” on Thursday morning, May 29, 2025 at the Southington Community Cultural Arts Center. Doors will open for networking at 7:30 am, breakfast will be served by 7:45 am. The program and discussion will run from 8 to 9:30 am.
Registration is requested by Friday, May 23rd so we can coordinate with the caterer.
There are some exciting changes happening as Connecticut restructures its early care and education programs. Early Start CT will be launched in July 2025 with two major components: 1) the consolidation of state funded child care programs and 2) the launch of a new statewide system of Local Governance Partners. The ECCS is in an excellent position to take on an expanded role in improving the town’s early care and education system through advocacy, outreach, professional development and cross systems activities.
We hope you can join us and provide your insights into these changes and issues facing young children in town.
This free event is funded by a grant from the Connecticut Office of Early Childhood as administered by the Connecticut Children’s Collective (CTCC).
Youth and Family PRIDE Festival 2025
Southington Pride announced: “Come join us at YMCA Camp Sloper for a day filled with celebration, love, and acceptance. This in-person event is a chance for the community to come together and show our pride. Get ready for live music, vendors and camp activities. Maybe even ice cream! Whether you’re part of the LGBTQ+ community or an ally, everyone is welcome to join in the festivities. Let’s come together to celebrate diversity and spread positivity. See you there!”
The ECCS will have a table at this event. Stop by if you have any questions or just say “Hi!”

SLCT Nature Day
Join the Southington Land Conservation Trust for their biggest event of the year! This is a FREE event for nature enthusiasts of all ages. Presentations by: Christine’s Critter & Riverside Reptiles.
The ECCS will be exhibiting at this event!
