Bring your favorite child to part 2 of our free Nutrition workshop series and enjoy a snack together.
Learn about health snack ideas and make some with your child. One way to expanding your child’s palate and address picky eaters is to offer new foods in a new setting and have them make it themselves.
Making food together is also a great time to incorporate numeracy skills such as counting, sorting and concepts such as under and over.
The speaker is Alexis Vieira, she does nutritional consulting as a Health Coach/Co-Owner at Commence Fitness in Southington. She previously taught elementary school in the New Haven Public Schools. Part of her mission as a health coach is to teach parents and children about health and wellness, specifically fitness and nutrition.
Certificates of attendance will be given to childcare providers.
This workshop is part of the ECCS’s Southington Community Well-Being Grant Initiative funded by the Bradley Henry Barnes & Leila Upson Barnes Memorial Trust at the Main Street Community Foundation.
Note dairy products will be served. The Bread for Life dining room serves dairy, grains, nuts and peanut products.
This is suitable for children age 3 to 8 and children must attend with a parent/guardian.
